Camilo, Chicago based illustrator creates surreal worlds with hallucinatory illustrations like cute, slightly off dogs to blobby, melting figures that are impossible. A consistency of imagery using gradients that that blend well together with perfectly curved, light motion lines following a drawings like gloopy animal and or letter really all works perfectly in one image. Working with music and playing in bands lead Camilo to work with artists like Paul Cherry, Secret Colours, to Vice and Pitchfork. “I mostly come up with all the funky stuff I want to try out, once in a while a client will give me an idea to get me started.” Camilo mentions. He keeps all doodles and ideas in his notebook to draw inspiration from and then he goes and does his thing.

“Since illustration is now my full time gig, I’m drawing all the time. Everything I make comes from a drawing on my sketchbook, I take a photobooth shot of my sketches and digitally trace them.”
